Julian Lennon has been associated with his father John Lennon since he was a kid. Today, he is set to release an album that he considers a reflection of how he dealt with the trauma that he experienced since he was a child.

According to Do You Remember, the singer's seventh studio album is very personal to him as it explores his authenticity and relationship with his father?

The record's title is "Jude," which is a nod to the iconic track "Hey Jude" written by Paul McCartney.

The living legend wrote the song at the time when Julian's parents, John and Yoko Ono, were having problems with their marriage due to the former's affair with another woman.

Julian didn't have a perfect relationship with his father because of what he had done. Through the years, he's looking for a "place of peace."

Although he clarified that he already found it a few times in the past, he went back to sadness after being "lost in the muddle of life."

Fortunately for him, he was able to find his inner peace again by working on the album as it was "about getting in touch" with himself and who he really is.

"When you hold a grudge or when there's negativity in your life, it doesn't necessarily hurt other people, it hurts you," he told People Magazine.

Did Julian Lennon Resolve His Issues With John Lennon?

Many people have been associating him with his father over the past few decades, and in order for him to step away from his shadow, he made a name for himself by being a documentary filmmaker, author, and philanthropist.

Elsewhere in the interview, the songwriter assured that he's already past some of the issues way before the album was completed.

On his brand new record, there are songs that were written recently, but some of them were conceived three decades ago.

By releasing these tracks, Julian said it's his way of embracing his comfortability.
