Before dominating the charts with his pop-punk songs and grungy aesthetic, Machine Gun Kelly used to be a rapper in the hip-hop industry and even ignited a feud with Eminem years ago. Today, the rapper-turned-rocker made his rap comeback in an EST Gee collaboration track; did fans like it?

According to Uproxx, the 32-year-old singer is featured on the Midwestern rapper's song "Death Around The Corner" from his recent album "I Never Felt Nun."

In the lyrics of his song, the "WANNA BE" hitmaker talked about the death of his father, his success within the music industry, and more.

Despite returning to his hip-hop roots, many fans were disappointed with EST Gee for collaborating with the rocker, as one fan pointed out on Twitter, "Now why tf did Est Gee put mgk on this damn song?!?"

"bruh why does this EST Gee tape have MGK and Jack Harlow features I don't even wanna listen no more," another one wrote.

Not all fans were hateful towards the collaborative track, as many users noted that MGK exceeded their expectations when the song was finally released.

Other fans also praised Kelly for his verse as they deem it "good" and "dope."

Is Machine Gun Kelly Returning to Hip-Hop After Pop Punk Success?

Since releasing "Tickets to My Downfall" and "Mainstream Sellout," Machine Gun Kelly received massive success from critics and fans as both records had number one singles in the United States.

However, in a previous interview with Audacy Music, it appears that the rapper is ready to let go of his emo rocker era as he revealed that a rap album is currently in progress.

"If I keep doing things to prove things to people, I'm going to one: drive myself crazy, and two: not make a good product," he told the outlet.

After his tour this year, MGK said he will pick up where "Hotel Diablo" ended. In addition, he will improve his rapping skills by putting more storylines and "find innovative sound" for himself.

His previous rap albums also gave him success as all of them managed to enter the top five charts excluding the 2017 record "Bloom" which placed number eight.

Machine Gun Kelly's previous projects were "Lace Up" in 2012," "General Admission" in 2015, and 2019's "Hotel Diablo," the last album before venturing out into the pop-punk scene.
