After a long wait, fans are finally rejoicing as "Stranger Things" actor Joe Keery, also known by his music moniker Djo, released his second album titled "DECIDE." Recently, he discussed in an interview some of his biggest inspirations when it comes to music.

Speaking to SPIN about the sophomore record, which features the song "End of Beginning," Djo said the album is far different from his previous releases as the most recent one has more hints of the pop genre.

The reason behind it is that he was inspired by boy bands and he incorporated their elements throughout the tracks of the album.

He later revealed that NSYNC and Backstreet Boys were two of his inspirations, saying his falsetto vocals in some songs were inspired by them

In addition, he also mentioned The Beatles being the greatest band of all time and he considered them as an influence too.

"I guess, have a love and appreciation for a lot of different music. When I'm listening to an album, I enjoy hearing a bunch of different influences, and that's what I'm trying to bring in," he added. (via iHeart)

Djo Wants Fans to Disassociate His Music Persona From 'Stranger Things' Role

In a previous interview with NME, Djo, who plays the role of Steve Harrington in all seasons of "Stranger Things," said he wanted fans to disassociate him as a musician from his him being an actor on the show.

He told the outlet that Djo started as a way for him to be detached from "the character that everybody knew me as" on the Netflix series.

After creating his "alter-ego," it made him more famous, and ended up enjoying the "camaraderie" that his music persona creates around other people.

Djo has been musically-inclined since he was a teenager, he was a part of the band called Post Animal before eventually going solo.

His latest album was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic along with Adam Thein at the Sound Factory in Los Angeles, California.

The album revolves around reflections on different aspects of life like relationships, growth, and many more.

Aside from Djo, there are also numerous "Stranger Things" actors who ventured out in the world of music including Finn Wolfhard, who's a part of the bands Calpurnia and The Aubreys, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Millie Bobby Brown, Maya Hawke, and more.
