It's been months since Chloë released her song "For the Night" and fans wanted to confirm her inspiration behind the song. Supporters didn't have to wait any longer as the singer finally explained the meaning behind the track after months of speculation.

The R&B singer recently spoke on Twitter Spaces over the weekend where she explained what the track is all about. At first, she told fans that she was going to reveal a "little secret" about the song, saying she might regret saying it, but it will help with the "streams."

"I don't even think he knows this! I wrote 'For The Night' about Gunna," she shares. (via Complex)

The other half of Chloë x Halle said she started working on the track after Gunna spoke to The Breakfast Club earlier this year where he denied the romance rumors about him and Chloë, saying they were only close friends.

Despite denying their relationship status, many fans continued to speculate about their true score after the pair was spotted shopping in Los Angeles days before Valentine's Day.

Later in her conversation with fans, the singer revealed her relationship status, confirming that she's currently single and the song was written months ago.

Chloë Reacts to Gunna's Arrest

Gunna is currently behind bars after being arrested on RICO charges. His trial date was scheduled on 2023.

To react to the situation, the songstress said no one should question her support for the rapper even though she's not speaking about it publicly.

She noted that as a songwriter, she writes her own content and gets inspired by what's happening even the slightest things.

Chloë added that she doesn't speak out publicly because she "support in real life."

Chloë has been thriving with her solo career after releasing her second solo single "Treat Me" and fans have been patiently waiting for her to drop her debut album.

The singer teased fans about the record online, saying her album is "wayyy too hot to handle" and couldn't wait any longer to release it because she's been working on it for the past three years.

As of this writing, the singer has not confirmed the official release date.
