Prior to his death, Aaron Carter had been working on his memoir, "Aaron Carter: An Incomplete Story of an Incomplete Life"; after his death, his team decided to unveil the memoir to the world, and it did not leave everyone nostalgic, instead, some claimed that it was done in bad taste.

Among the people who found the memoir to be distasteful was Carter's ex-girlfriend, Hilary Duff, who was given a special mention in the memoir.

According to the New York Post, an excerpt of the memoir read, "Hilary and I lost our virginity to each other at a hotel... in LA."

"I think it was her birthday, maybe her 13th, but I don't remember. Her friends walked in, and we just yelled at them to get out."

Duff and Carter briefly dated in their teenage years. According to reports, they met when he appeared in her hit show "Lizzie McGuire".

Clearly, their chemistry was off the roof, as they had hit if off off-screen, and began dating on and off following that.

'Money Grab'

Duff expressed her frustrations to Daily Mail UK on how the posthumous memoir took advantage of the singer's death and was reckless in publishing it.

"It's really sad that within a week of Aaron's death, there's a publisher that seems to be recklessly pushing a book out to capitalize on this tragedy without taking [the] appropriate time or care to fact-check the validity of his work," she said.

"Aaron Carter: An Incomplete Story of an Incomplete Life" credited Carter and Andy Symonds as the writers.

"To water down Aaron's life story to what seems to be unverified click-bait for profit is disgusting. In no way do I condone shedding any light on what is so obviously an uninformed, heartless, money grab." added Duff.

According to reports, the memoir has been in the works for over three years, and it is set for release on Nov. 15 by Ballast Books, a whole ten days following the singer's death, who was found in the bathroom of his California home on Nov. 5.

Following the tragic and sudden death of the singer, Duff posted a short message on Instagram as she paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend.

"For Aaron-I'm deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world," she wrote.

"You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent... boy did my teenage-self love you deeply. Sending my love to your family at this time. Rest easy."
