Social media users were outraged after Madonna posted an Instagram video in which she looked to sip water from a bowl -- like an animal.
The post, which one person deemed "embarrassing" and "disgusting," or very unbecoming of a supposed renowned legend.
The video featured the 64-year-old pop diva posing for still photographs before shifting to a grainy video showing her on all fours with her head just above the bowl.
It grossed out some Twitter users shortly after it was uploaded after 50 Cent renewed their rivalry by criticizing a video of her violently lip-syncing to a Baby Keem song and calling her a "grandma."
The" Material Girl" hitmaker was spotted riding a motorcycle while wearing a revealing attire in recent photos.
Madonna complemented her ensemble with a fuzzy green T-shirt with a black undershirt, white-framed sunglasses, a massive silver necklace, and red hair styled in curling waves. However, the piece that appeared to anger a number of social media users was a pause in her slideshow that transitioned to a video of her drinking from a silver dog bowl in the garage.

Close inspection shows that the pop icon did not actually lick the bowl, as she looks to stick her tongue out and approach it. It appears to be a fun (and extremely literal) response to the music that accompanied her slide show, "I Wanna Be Your Dog" by The Stooges, a proto-punk classic from 1969.
Numerous artists have covered the song, which was placed number 314 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list as of 2021.
Madonna herself sampled the song in her 2005 track I Love New York. Still, the Twitter users cannot be blamed for their shock and outrage. It did feel very awkward to look at.
It even caused a discussion among fans, with some arguing that their idol should now grow up, and others claiming that they had misread her creative intent. It is impossible to underestimate the amount of fans who were outraged by the artist's apparent refusal to act her age. "Grow up already!" angrily said one person.
They said Madonna is too old to be licking a dog bowl. She is no longer the material girl; instead, she resembles a foolish "nut job girl." Another individual joked that she wouldn't let my dog drink out of a bowl that Madonnaa licked.
One commenter compared Madonna to a dog and joked that she should go and hump the leg of a stranger.
Still, some came to her defence and remarked that the detractors simply could not get Madonna's video. They tweeted that bashers are not "sophisticated" enough to comprehend Madonna's art. The water in the dog dish represents the insufficient spiritual nutrition provided by capitalism, while the dog bowl itself represents the degradation of servitude and slavery.
Although the dog bowl part of the slideshow garnered the most attention, Madonna also tweeted a provocative shot of herself squatting provocatively over a bottle of sriracha spicy sauce while leaning against a rack of condiments.
