Some of the geniuses behind some of the biggest hits in music history are going to be honored by being inducted into the 2023 Songwriters Hall of Fame, including Vince Gill, Gloria Estefan, Bryan Adams, Jeff Lynne, and more.

On Nov. 14, the Songwriters Hall of Fame unveiled its slate of nominees, noting that the songwriters included in the list have ticked their criteria boxes.

According to their website, the Songwriters Hall of Fame recognized the composers and lyricists who have made music that left a mark in music history, with their music still being significant over two decades since its initial release.

According to reports, eligible voting members can start voting until Dec. 28 at 12 am PST or Dec. 29 3 a.m. EST. They have to vote for three nominees from each category: the performing and non-performing songwriters.

The winners will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame's 54th Annual Induction and Awards Gala on June 15, 2023, in New York City.

Nominees

The two categories each have twelve nominees, and while most of the nominees are individuals, reports noted

-Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty are a powerful duo that has several awards and accolades under their belt, and they were inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2015.

-Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson, who formed Heart, were also included in the slate of nominees. The pair have undeniable success and were even inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

-Individual nominees include one of the most prominent rappers today, Snoop Dogg. His songs, although released several years ago, are still considered as go-to club music like "Drop It Like It's Hot," "Young, Wild & Free," and "Gin & Juice."

-Seven-time Grammy Award winner Gloria Estefan was also included in the slate. The singer is considered an icon in Latin music, and her album sales made her the second-best-selling female Latin artist.

-Non-performing artists saw an array of songwriters from different genres as well. Liz Rose, the Grammy Award-winning songwriter, was nominated. She worked with artists like Taylor Swift, Little Big Town, and Carrie Underwood.

-Teddy Riley is known for fusing hip-hop and R&B in his music. He was credited as a co-writer for the hit song "No Diggity." He also worked with other artists like Lady Gaga and Girls' Generation.

-Glen Ballard is a songwriter and producer who has six Grammy Awards under his belt. He collaborated with several of the most prominent musicians in history, including Michael Jackson,Alanis Morisette, Christina Aguilera,  and Dave Matthews, among others.
