"Midnights" singer, Taylor Swift, snagged the top awards at the MTV Europe Music Awards for 2022. The award ceremony took place at the PSD Bankdome in Dusseldorf, Germany, on November 13, Sunday. Among the top awards the 32-year old singer took home were best artist, best video, best pop, and best long-version video for "All Too Well." The long version of the last mentioned song runs for ten minutes, and is otherwise referred to as Taylor's version. The other nominees for the long-version video were "Studio 666"-Foo Fighters, "Motomami"-Rosalia, "Mel Made Me Do It"-Stormzy, and "Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert" at the Webley Stadium in London. 

Winning the best video award at the MTV EMA's is Taylor's second time of winning. Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, and Seventeen all won two awards individually at the said event. Minaj got the MTV EMA best song and best hip hop award for her song, "Super Freaky Girl." The other artists nominated for their hip hop songs were Drake, Future, Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, Lil' Baby, and Megan Thee Stallion. Meanwhile, Guetta was victorious in scooping the best collaboration award with Bebe Rexha for the song, "I'm Good (Blue)." 

This next information may surpirse many fans-former "One Direction" member, Harry Styles was another top nomineee for the MTV EMA's this year, with seven nominations under his belt. This award category was reintrouduced after a two-year absence in the midst of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. 

New award categories in the MTV EMA's were launched this year. These awards were best long form video and best metaverse performance. 

The hosts of the MTV EMA awards for 2022 were Rita Ora and Taika Waititi. The MTV EMA's were broadcasted to audiences via MTV's global network, in over 170 countries, and on Pluto TV in selected territories in the United States, Latin America, and Europe, and via Comedy Central in Germany. Starting on November 14, viewers can watch this awards ceremony event around the world, via Paramount and Pluto TV.
