And the label fiasco continues!

Megan Thee Stallion was just granted a restraining order against her embattled music label 1501 Entertainment after it has "unlawfully" made efforts in blocking or interfering with Meg's use of her music prior to the American Awards 2022.

Based on Billboard's exclusively obtained documents, Megan Thee Stallion, formally known as Megan Pete, has been issued with the said legal privilege.

To put it simply, a restraining order is a written instruction made by a court that forbids a particular action, in this case, 1501's "actions" to Meg's music, until a judge has made a decision about the matter. (via Cambridge University Dictionary)

Billboard also noted in the filing that Megan has filed on Harris Country District court that she has "provided evidence" that 1501, including 300 Entertainment, has "engaged and will continue to engage in "threatening and retaliatory behavior that will irreparably harm" her music career.

As for what "threatening and retaliatory behavior" the music label has taken, it was not defined in the actual filing.

Immediately, the court granted Megan the request, even without hearing the other side because there was no more time for a hearing already given the current predicament and urgency of the situation.

Megan is currently nominated for the American Music Awards for Best Hip-Hop Artist. She noted that if the label continues to pursue action, she would be suffering "irreparable harm" especially if her music cannot be used in her promotion for the American Music Awards 2022.

Meanwhile, the recent ruckus with 1501 Entertainment is just the tip of the iceberg on Meg's issue with her music label.

In a high-profile lawsuit she filed in 2020, she alleged that 1501 Entertainment, thru Carl Crawford, "tricked" her into signing an "unconscionable" record deal in 2018 - a thing that she has not realized until she signed up with Roc Nation later on.

Earlier this year, she also filed a separate lawsuit against the music label, accusing them of declassifying her album "Something For The Hotties," pushing her to release one more album for the label to fulfill her contractual obligations. The label fought back, alleging that the album does not meet the qualifications for it to be called an album.

Aside from her album lawsuits, Megan is also embroiled in another high-profile lawsuit with rapper Tory Lanez who she alleged to have shot her in the foot in 2020.
