Nipsey Hussle is going to receive the documentary treatment. The documentary series will follow his life and career, and it was produced by NBA star LeBron James.

James shared the exciting news with fans through social media. He posted the trailer and captioned it: "It started in Crenshaw, now the marathon continues."

"It's an incredible honor for SpringHill to have a part in sharing Nipsey's story and legacy with the world," James told TMZ.

"He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower, and uplift others along the way."

According to reports, the trailer for the documentary series is already out, however, it did not say several important things that fans should take note of-the title and the release date.

Production

James is joined by Maverick Carter's SpringHill Company production house as well as Hussle's Marathon Films.

The news of the NBA star being the one behind the production came as a surprise to some fans, and not everyone was happy.

Some aired out their frustrations through social media, "How much of the profits from this documentary will be reinvested back into the communities that are suffering from gang violence? Foundations and community centers could be a small start at making a change."

Others noted that he should stick to basketball, "Less time with your off court projects and more time focusing on basketball. You should be practicing, you have a game tonight. Smh."

However, there are others who are more than happy to finally have a documentary about the late rapper.

"Man this coming at the perfect time cause I miss nip so much! Literally was playing him early this morning. This def needed for the culture! I pray they drop a new album from him, I know he has over 1000 unreleased tracks from what j stone said," a fan wrote.

"He tried to make a change, by giving back to his community. He turned his life around, and gave back to his community, to people less fortunate. He was making a difference. It's so sad his life was cut short. It was only really beginning. R.I.P. Nip," another added.

Remembering Nipsey

The trailer shows footage of Hussle's life, as he narrated over it, "Crenshaw-Slauson, in the Crenshaw District, well that's where, really, the Nip Hussle story."

Hussle was born Airmiess Joseph Asghedom in Los Angeles, California. He rose to prominence in the mid-2000s, and became known for releasing numerous mixtapes.

His debut studio album, "Victory Lap" also received much success and even got nominated for Best Rap Album in the 2019 Grammy Awards.

He met his unfortunate demise on Mar. 31, 2019, after being fatally shot outside his Los Angeles store. He is one of the many rappers who died to gun violence.
