Elton John received a surprise video from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle before marking the last US stop of his final tour.

As John's "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour" continues, the Rocket Man marked the last US show on Sunday at the Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium. He shocked fans with his breathtaking performance as he went to the stage in an elevator before disappearing.

While he himself surprised his fans, Prince Harry and Meghan made him feel the same by delivering a video message to him.

Before the tour's broadcast, the clip was played during Disney+'s "Countdown to Elton Live" and showed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The couple congratulated the singer and expressed how proud they were upon seeing him in his show, as well.

"[And] thank you for entertaining everybody for so many decades. Thank you for being the friend that you were for my mum, thank you for being our friend. Thank you for being a friend to our kids and thank you for entertaining people right around the world," Prince Harry said.

The Duke of Sussex added that they believe it would not be John's last gig.

Before becoming friends with Prince Harry, John already established a friendship with the late Princess Diana. He also remains close with the royal family members and even performed the 1997 song, "Candle In the Wind", during the Princess of Wales' funeral.

He also sang at the Sussexes' wedding in 2018 and hosted them at his South of France home the following year.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's comments resonated with what the singer's manager said about his career.

Elton John Not Yet Retiring?

This month, John's manager David Furnish sat for an interview with Billboard and said the singer might have shows despite his retirement from touring.

He revealed that it might be a special one-off or a small residency in one venue for a limited period of time, adding that it might not be in Las Vegas.

Still, he said that John's priority right now is his family, and he has reportedly been wanting to spend more time with them. With that, it would take him a long time before considering the next step and returning to the stage.

Amid touring, John is also prioritizing his health especially now that he is 74. That way, he can keep himself and his band safe.
