Eight years have passed since Fergie last blessed us with a solo album.

Her 2006 debut, The Dutchess, reached No. 2 on the Billboard chart and spawned the smash singles "London Bridge" and "Fergalicious," among others.

She's also been making her mark with the Black Eyed Peas for well over a decade, so it's not as if she's completely fallen off the map, but the thirst for more solo Fergie is real.

Thankfully, the wait is coming to an end.

Guesting on Chelsea Lately with Chelsea Handler on Thursday night, Fergie (birth name: Stacy Ann Ferguson) revealed that she's been in the studio prepping a new album that will not feature any of the Black Eyed Peas. That's right: Not even will.i.am shall make an appearance.

In fact, the studio is the only place where Ferg is currently able to escape her 11-month-old son Axl Duhamel.

"My social life is now at the studio," Fergie said. "Everyone's there. I just think it's the biggest party."

The 39-year-old spoke to Ryan Seacrest about a potential second solo effort this January, and said that she's been prepping ideas for the past several years.

"The Dutchess was comprised of songs from a seven-year period; a lot of people don't know that," she said. "I've been writing down my ideas, I've been in my little cave, my creative cave, and the ideas come when they come," she said. "So, when I do come out with my album, I'm going to be really proud of it."

As of now, there are no further details, but Fergie also confirmed that she will be touring after the release of her new material.

Her most recent stab at a solo effort was "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)" from The Great Gatsby soundtrack.
