In the past few days, Chris Brown has been a large talking point on social media.

After his sacked Michael Jackson performance at the 2022 American Music Awards, Brown has received substantial backing and defense from Kelly Rowland and now from his previous collaborator, Jordin Sparks.

Supposedly, Chris Brown is supposed to be invited to the 2022 American Music Awards for a tribute performance for Michael Jackson as it has been 40 years since the cult-classic record "Thriller" by the King of Pop was released.

Infamously, Brown pleaded guilty to physically abusing his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 - causing the R&B Prince's music career to plummet.

A day before his performance, Brown was informed that his performance, which he had trained and rehearsed for extensively, was to be pulled out from the show.

According to Puck Media, this would be the first time in the #MeToo Era that Brown would be invited to perform on live television since the BET Awards 2017.

"The upshot: Disney wasn't opposed to Brown performing, it was just the pairing of this artist with this material that would be potentially radioactive and thus a nonstarter," the article wrote, referring to the reason why the performance was canceled.

Meanwhile, Brown took to social media to voice out his disappointment on the sudden change, saying: "WOULD'VE been the ama performance but they canceled me for reasons unknown."

But despite his boycott on the American Music Awards, Brown still won Favorite Male R&B Artist - accepting the award on his behalf is the presenter Kelly Rowland herself.

Brown's win wasn't met with applause; it was met with boos - which Rowland hushed out.

"Excuse me. Chill out," Rowland said. "I wanna tell Chris thank you so much for making great R&B music. I'll take this award and bring it to you."

TMZ, in a separate interview, got a hold of Rowland, which had more to say about his AMAs rant.

"I believe that grace is very real, and we all need a dose of it. Before we point fingers at anybody, we should realize how grateful we are for every moment that we get, even for our own [problems] that we have. I just think it's important to remember to be human. We are humans," she said to the outlet.

Meanwhile, Jordin Sparks, Brown's collaborator on "No Air," supported Rowland and backed the embattled R&B star too.

"We love Chris. He should have been there," she told the outlet. "People deserve to be able to grow and learn and be able to live their life without things hanging over them. Everybody deserves that ... him especially."

As per Sparks, the issue of Brown's past behavior should not be part of the conversation anymore, as it should be about his talent already.
