According to XXL, Kanye West wants to collaborate with Sir Paul McCartney on his upcoming album.

The two have reportedly been friends for some time now and Sir Paul actually has a big appreciation for rap music.

During a Twitter Q&A in October last year, the former Beattle even revealed his most recent album purchases included Kanye and Jay Z

"Kanye and Paul have known each other for a long time but have become more friendly recently. There's every chance they'll head into the studio together," an insider told the Sun. "Kanye really respects music legends and is still putting the finishing touches to his new album."

West reportedly appeared backstage at one of McCartney's performances in Los Angeles earlier this week.

"He has been tapping Macca up for a while about working together," the source revealed.

Apparently, the "Live And Let Die" singer shares West's sentiment. While discussing his track "Appreciate," McCartney admitted he had "resisted the temptation to get a rapper in."

Kanye West and Jay Z were supposedly his top picks to appear on the track.

Back in March, Elton John also announced that he would like to work with Mr. West.

Sir Elton described his interest in alternative styles of music like hip-hop and electronica during an interview with Rolling Stone

"For me, I'd have to work with someone who knows about it, like a Pharrell or a Kanye, who I respect tremendously," he said. "I'd love to do that. It's just a matter of when and where and, should I do it, the mood that I'm in. You can never tell. It's happenstance and luck, basically."

Stay tuned for updates.
