Stacie Joy Orrico is an American singer, songwriter, and sometimes actress. She was born on March 3, 1986.

Orrico's first album, "Genuine" (2000), sold 13,000 copies in its first week on the market after she signed with ForeFront Records.

After her first album, she signed with a new record label, Virgin Records, and started working on her self-titled album Stacie Orrico (2003), which was released by both ForeFront and Virgin. The album was certified gold after selling more than 500,000 copies in the US. It debuted at No. 59 on the Billboard 200.

The first single, "Stuck," got to No. 52 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it did better internationally. "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life" was her second single, and it reached No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Over 3.5 million copies of her self-titled album have been sold all over the world. She made her first TV appearances as an actress in the same year, in two episodes of American Dreams.

After seven years, her record label, ForeFront Records, dropped her.

She decided to focus on her music career and started working on her third album, "Beautiful Awakening" (2006). In August 2006, the first single, "I'm Not Missing You," came out. "So Simple" is the last single from her third album, which never made it to the top of the US charts.

Still, it was her peak... but after...none. No new music, that is. What happened to her?

It should be noted that in 2009, she was back in the studio to record her fourth album with Brandon Beal and Cannon Mapp. "Light Years" was one of the songs she made. But the song did not become an album.

In 2013, Orrico posted a video to her YouTube account to explain why she was taking a break and to say that she would be back in the studio soon. Orrico said she had been at New York University from 2011 to 2013 to study women's literature and acting. She said that she was making an R&B album, which was set to come out in 2014. (as of 2021 this had not been released).

She worked with many people, including producers Allen Stone, Hal Linton, Gabe Cummins, and The Lions.

On November 6, 2013, she held a virtual concert on Stageit.com to mark her return. On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on November 9, 2015, Orrico performed with Jon Batiste and Stay Human.

Still, Stacie Orrico's new album is nowhere to be seen. Should fans still wait? At present, Orrico is one of the founders of The Nile Project, "a modern day artist's salon" focused on providing women "a place for collaborative, feminine ways of healing and creating. A check on her Instagram would show that she's still busy with such endeavour.

All the best of her luck, and hopefully, she can still give what her fans have long been wanting or else, be stuck being called a one-hit wonder by some.
