Country superstar Keith Urban just sold his highly acclaimed master recording catalogs to Litmus Music, included with the new partnership is an upcoming album slated for 2023.

According to Variety, ten multiplatinum, platinum, or gold-certified studio albums as well as a compilation of his greatest hits were all sold to Litmus Music for an undetermined price.

Urban's well-loved and critically acclaimed catalog has 24 No. 1 songs and over 20 Top 5 hits, like "Somebody Like You," "You'll Think of Me," and "Once in Lifetime."

Despite reports did not determine exactly how much the country star's studio albums sold for, one can only deduce that it went pretty high up, considering Urban's status in the music industry as a decorated and awarded singer.

According to reports, Urban has made a name for himself in the industry with a career that has spanned decades.

He currently has four Grammy Awards, 13 Country Music Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, three American Music Awards, five ARIA Awards, and two People's Choice Awards.

Money Moves

Elsewhere in reports noted that Urban not only scored quite a deal with Litmus Music by selling off his master recording catalog, but he also has an upcoming album slated for the following year with Litmus Music.

It is clear that Urban was very enthusiastic about the new development in his music career as he thanked the co-founders of the company, Dan McCarroll and Hank Forsyth.

"What makes this such a great fit for me, is the genuine passion and respect Dan, Hank, and the team at Litmus have for this music. In working with them, I feel that same collaborative spirit that's always inspired me as an artist."

Perhaps this is indeed a new era for the country star, because Litmus Music views the deal with the same warm sentiments.

I have the deepest respect for Keith, his incredible talent, and his passion for making great music. He's a musically insatiable musician, record maker, performer, and songwriter," said Carroll in a statement.

Urban is another artist who earned big bucks for selling off their master recordings, songwriting catalogs, and or both, just as several artists this year alone.

Other artists who also got into similar deals are Stevie Nicks, Bob Dylan, Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, and more.

Urban is surely making big money moves as he is not only planning to record a new album, but he has also announced that he will be embarking on a tour in 2023.

Urban was born in New Zealand and eventually moved to Australia where he found his passion for music. He began playing the guitar at a young age and signed his first record deal in 1990.
