Maxi Jazz's real passion and love is music, in fact, he dedicated most of his life to it. Even when things seemed bleak for his music career, he managed to pull himself together and get back on track.

The former Faithless frontman has deep roots in music spanning back to the 1980s when he first got into music professionally.

Before forming Faithless, the singer founded The Soul Food Cafe System in 1984. He discovered hip-hop in 1983 and began gearing up to become a DJ.

He dropped his real name, Maxwell Fraser, and went by Maxi Jazz, and began making music, calling it "In the Soul Kitchen with DJ Maxi Jazz."

He eventually caught the attention of enough music listeners to form his own label, Namu Records in 1992.

It was not until 1995 that he met Jamie Catto and Sister Bliss, and they formed the band, Faithless.

In 2011, he left Faithless but rejoined the group in 2015. However, this reunion with the rest of the band was short-lived, as the singer then went on to leave the band one last time in 2016.

Maxi Jazz's split from Faithless was never really disclosed to the public, and many note that the reason might be more personal than people initially thought.

However, according to reports, the split might simply be due to a misunderstanding between the singer and the other members.

Other Endeavors

Aside from Faithless, Maxi Jazz formed another group, Maxi Jazz & The E-Type Boys. While this group was not as prominent as Faithless, they enjoyed their own type of fame and were even called to perform at events alongside Faithless.

With his many many musical endeavors, Maxi Jazz had a net worth of around $4 to 8 million, different reports say.

Aside from his love for music, Maxi Jazz really enjoyed cars and racing. He had a car collection, which was unveiled to the public through Sky One's Vroom Vroom motoring show.

In 2000, he founded Maxi Jazz Racing, and even participated in several championships, but his racing career was not able to fully take off because of his music career, to which he focused and dedicated most of his time on.

His eventful and exciting life came to an end over the weekend when he was found dead in his bed.

The singer had reportedly passed away in his sleep, but the cause of death is yet to be disclosed to the public.

His sudden death surprised and devastated fans, contemporaries, and former bandmates who wrote good things about him in their statement.
