Iggy Pop is considered one of the pillars of the rock 'n' roll genre and his success didn't happen overnight as he worked hard to achieve his dreams ever since he was a teenager. Today, the musician shared a few words of wisdom for those who wanted to enter the music scene at a young age.

According to the Society of Rock, the vocalist has a specific attitude that he had since he was a starting artist, he doesn't back down from any challenge that the universe has been throwing at him, making him a successful musician.

Having over 50 years of experience in the industry, Iggy is one of the singers who experienced ups and downs throughout his career, but being a persistent person led him to where he is today.

In 1971, he thought his career was over after his former band The Stooges disbanded, but David Bowie saved his life when he suffered from many problems like drug abuse, drinking, and many more.

In a previous interview, the rock 'n' roll legend said Bowie flew him to Berlin, Germany, and his career began to have a reset.

"I was a street person in LA basically. I'd been kind of stymied by the entire music business and a really disastrous manager in general, drug problems and drinking, general carousing," he said.

Iggy Pop Wants Young Artists to 'Confront Life'

In his own words, Iggy Pop wanted young artists to face the harsh realities and stand up for themselves if they wanted to break through in the industry.

"Get out of bed and confront life!' That's still the case now. You have to challenge yourself. You have to develop," he said. (via The Double Negative)

He added that he's always ready to "jump into the fire" with anyone who thinks is a good person and "that's the best thing that happens to anybody."

His advice didn't stop there as he also wanted young stars to throw themselves into "all sorts of insecure situations as it would make them grow as an artist and rejection and failure would make them stronger."

"As a young artist, you throw yourself into all sorts of insecure situations, and that's how you grow, through the import of other people and through failure and rejection," he added.
