BLACKPINK's resident visual and vocal star, Jisoo, is finally launching her solo career, a few months before the KPOP group's rumored appearance at this year's Coachella.

2023 is going to be a great year for BLACKPINK fans, because not only is BLACKPINK having a stadium tour, headlining BST Hyde Park, and allegedly headlining Coachella, but fans are also going to finally get their hands on Jisoo's solo album.

According to reports, YG Entertainment, the girls' entertainment agency, has confirmed the news: "We are currently in the midst of speedrunning the recording process for Jisoo's solo album.

"The jacket filming was completed during BLACKPINK's world tour last year, and Jisoo has been working on the music as and when time permits."

The statement comes shortly after Jisoo herself confirmed the exciting news to a fan who asked about it, through Weverse.

Coachella 2023

Jisoo's debut as a solo artist was originally planned for 2022, but was pushed back in favor of BLACKPINK's projects and world tour.

The girl group is currently on a world tour, in support of their recent sophomore studio album, "Born Pink."

Although another report says that the KPOP singer was a bit apprehensive about the idea of launching her solo career, she explained that she was "not sure how much [she] wanted to go solo yet."

"The music I listen to, the music I can do, and the music I want to do - what should I choose?" She said.

However, it seems like the singer finally worked out which direction she was going for with her solo music. With Jisoo's solo debut finally confirmed and lined up, fans are now speculating when the debut solo album will be released.

"Jisoo solo has to be next month bc they don't have tour schedules. Like, isn't it kinda odd that they stopped their Asia leg for a month? And they don't have any sched? Might be April too but it is rumored that they are going to Coachella so that's unlikely," wrote a fan.

"Jisoo solo might be in February and their [comeback] in April + the festivals and the Coachella rumors this year will be full of Blackpink," another wrote.

With all the possible dates Jisoo can drop her highly-anticipated album, fans are hoping that it will be released before the group headlines Coachella in April.

"And if Jisoo fills up all her piercing, wear a dress that shows off her tattoo, dyes her hair at Coachella while performing her own solo song. That will be the end of me!" A fan wrote.

"If it's true about Blackpink will perform again in Coachella. I will manifest Jisoo will perform her solo there."

This comes after reports of the KPOP powerhouse was rumored to be included in this year's Coachella headliners, alongside Frank Ocean, Justin Bieber, SZA, Drake, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny, Rihanna, Travis Scott, and more.
