Nick Carter is known to have a tumultuous relationship with his younger brother Aaron Carter, but that did not mean that he loves him any less.

The sudden death of the "Candy" singer surprised and devastated everyone, especially his own family, who have been so supportive of his career and health throughout the years.

"We all have someone in our lives that no matter what they do and how bad it hurts you still love them," wrote Carter in an Instagram post that shows a clip from the music video. "So I worked it out the best way I know how."

A day before its release, Carter unexpectedly announced the song's release, Jan. 11, but did not include the title in his post.

Brothers' Bond

Carter's new song was accompanied by a music video. It showed the Backstreet Boys singer, leaning against a blank wall, while clips of the late singer were being flashed on the wall and himself.

The song follows Carter singing to his brother, reflecting on their rocky relationship. Despite the sad undertones of the lyrics, Carter was also hopeful that the late singer would find peace.

"Feel like we've been through some wars together/ Nobody else could understand/ Way too many nightmares to remember.

"Always hoped your tomorrows/ Would be better than the days before/ I hoped you'd find your road to follow/ To a place you were happy in this world.

"Cuz it hurts to love you, but I love you still/ Miss you with all my heart, you know I always will/ I always prayed for peace my soul could feel," Carter sang. "It's hard to let go of the anger/ I know for me it took some time."

Carter's newly released song comes two months after the death of the "Aaron's Party" singer, who was found in his California home on Nov. 5.

After his brother's death, Carter took to social media to address how mental illness took his brother from them and denounced the conspiracies.

"My love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed," Carter wrote.

"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here."
