Nick and Aaron Carter's sister Bobbie Jean Carter's cause of death has been determined nearly two months after her passing.

The Carter family suffered several losses over the past years following the deaths of Leslie, Aaron and Bobbie Jean, with the latter as the latest member to pass away. After the most recent tragedy, a report confirmed what led to Bobbie Jean's death.

Bobbie Jean Carter's Cause of Death Confirmed

The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Department released a statement to different media outlets, including USA Today and People, in which it confirmed Bobbie Jean died of intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine on December 23, 2023, at the age of 41.

Fire rescue members reportedly found Bobbie Jean in a Tampa, Fla., home bathroom after a roommate discovered her in an unresponsive state.

According to the medical examiner department, propranolol, clindamycin, omeprazole and quetiapine were the preliminary medicines found in her system. In addition, it said Bobbie Jean's manner of death was accidental.

The document's medical history section also disclosed she was diagnosed with schizophrenia before her death.

When the Hillsborough Sheriff's Department responded to the Florida home, deputies learned Bobbie Jean was on probation for cocaine possession before her demise. She pleaded guilty to drug possession and petty theft after a June incident amid her struggles with addiction and substance abuse.

No signs of foul play were found at the time.

"[H]owever deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother," her mother, Jane, said in a statement.

Bobbie Jean Carter's Death Followed Aaron and Leslie's Passings

Before Bobbie Jean's death, the family dealt with the loss following Aaron's death on November 5, 2022. He was also found unresponsive at the time, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled his death as accidental drowning after suffering from the effects of alprazolam, a generic Xanax.

Aaron reportedly inhaled compressed difluoroethane then, and the mixed substances led him to be "incapacitated while in the bathtub" and slip under the water and drown.

Meanwhile, Leslie died in New York at the age of 25 following a prescription medication overdose.
