Rolling Stone reports that a film documenting Roger Waters' massive tour of Pink Floyd's The Wall is set to premiere in September at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Roger Waters: The Wall was directed by Waters and his co-creative director Sean Evans and follows Waters on his 2010-2013 worldwide stadium tour, in which he performed Pink Floyd's classic 1979 rock opera in its entirety. The tour lasted for 219 performances and grossed $458 million, making it the most successful tour of a solo artist in history.

"Ever since The Wall was released, it has become one of the classic rock albums of all time," said TIFF director Piers Handling in a statement. "Its popularity continues and its message is still timely. Deeply affected by his father's and grandfather's deaths in the two world wars, Roger Waters has crafted a plea to tear down the walls that lead to misunderstandings and wars."

Handling continues, "This powerful performance film allows Roger to explore what The Wall still means to him as he performs it in front of tens of thousands of fans, and visits more personal places that resonate with meaning on the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War."

Now that Waters has finished the tour and the film, he is currently working on a new solo album, which will be his first since his 2005 opera Ça Ira and his first rock solo album since 1992's Amused To Death. As for his former bandmates David Gilmour and Nick Mason, they're currently working on a new Pink Floyd album, the first since 1994's The Division Bell.
