Paul McCartney will be the center of an upcoming documentary that would feature never-before-seen videos and untold stories from his life after The Beatles; who would be the man behind the movie?

According to Billboard, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville will be the one directing the movie, which was announced over the weekend through Universal Music Group's pre-Grammy event in Milk Studios featuring some of the biggest artists in the music industry.

Aside from the former Beatles member, other documentaries were also announced that would tackle the lives of Jon Batiste (directed by Matthew Heineman) and the official release date of Donna Summer's documentary "Love to Love You, Donna Summer" this Spring via HBO.

McCartney's upcoming docu is being produced by MPL Communications and Polygram Entertainment. Insiders noted that the film will revolve around the story of the musician's life after The Beatles disbanded as well as clips and interviews that were never publicly released to any platform in the past.

In addition, the film will also feature his life with his wife Linda McCartney, and how he grappled with his solo career over the decades.

Titled "Man on the Run," the project is said to be "the definitive document of Paul's emergence from the dissolution of the world's biggest band and his triumphant creation of a second decade of musical milestones - a brilliant and prolific stretch."

This was not the first time Morgan Neville worked on a documentary in the past as he previously got involved in projects about the lives of celebrities, with films like "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" featuring Mr. Rogers and "Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain."

Produced together with David Blackman and Michele Anthony of UMG, the filmmaker will also be collaborating with producer Caitrin Rogers, Scott Rodger, and Ben Chappell from MPL.

Throughout the years, Neville has been obsessed with The Beatles, especially Paul McCartney, so he followed their lives by watching every documentary and reading books about the band. However, his upcoming project will focus on something new. (via Universal Music Group's Press Release)

"To me, the story of what happened to Paul in the wake of The Beatles when he had to rediscover himself is the story that has never been told," he said.

Upon receiving a call from UMG about the project, the famed film industry personality revealed that it only took him three seconds to agree as he has been waiting for that moment since he was 10 years old.

As of this writing, Paul McCartney's upcoming documentary "Man on the Run" has no official release date yet.
