Selena Gomez has many celebrity best friends, the most notable one being Taylor Swift, but she isn't the only best friend the singer has-in fact, fans got a closer look into Gomez's relationship with her other BFF Raquelle Stevens through her recently-released documentary.

The "My Mind & Me" documentary not only showed fans a side of the "Love You to Love Me" singer that has never been seen before, but it also gave them a glimpse of her relationship with her team and friends.

Many questioned Stevens' attitude and demeanor towards the singer that was shown in the documentary.

But like the message Gomez was trying to convey in the documentary, Stevens noted that there's much more to their relationship than what is being portrayed on screen.

"Anytime you do anything public in life, you're subject to opinions of other people," said the "Sunshine Mind" author during her appearance on the "Chicks in the Office" podcast.

"You just don't even go there if you're not willing to be able to take the heat, but the biggest thing for me was that the documentary was a beautiful, beautiful piece of work that Selena so vulnerably shared with the world.

It was her life story, and part of what was included in that documentary was our friendship, which is special and it's honest, and it's real," she told cohosts Maria Ciuffo and Francesca Mariano.

Even Stevens' coauthor of "Sunshine Mind" Tanya Rad had nothing but good things to say about her: "She knows who she is. She knows what type of friend she is."

Despite the criticisms thrown her way, Stevens has maintained that she and GOmez have a solid friendship, I'm grateful that it was included in the documentary because I think that it is important to see, and I think it's amazing that Selena welcomes honesty in her friendships and I welcome that in my life too."

Aside from friendship, Stevens is also a collaborator for the beauty mogul. She has appeared on several other projects Gomez embarked on like her cooking show "Selena + Chef," Us magazine reported.

Selena Stands by Raquelle

The pair are so close that the criticisms against Stevens did not go unnoticed by Gomez.

She has subtly defended Stevens' honor several times before. When she appeared on Stevens' podcast "Giving Back Generation," the singer said, "When we decided to do this, it's because I want there to be more friendships like this. ...I hope what the takeaway from this as well is that we just want - I want to be an example of friendship and what it can look like, and the importance."

The "rare" singer also shared how her relationship really is with the author: I have different sets of responsibilities, and it's so wonderful and so important to be able to pick up the phone and call someone who you respect, that you honor their opinion and that aren't just going to tell you the things you want to hear."

Safe to say, Gomez does not need saving from Stevens, and is in fact enjoying her company a lot, given that they're on several projects together.
