Charli XCX had just released her highly-anticipated album "Crash" last year, but it appears that the pop star is working on new music as she recently signed with a new record label; is she joining Dirty Hit?

The "New Shapes" hitmaker recently appeared on "In The Bag" series by British Vogue where she showed a few items from her Mugler handbag. Upon going through her things one by one, she pulled out a "brand new recording contact" for "two albums."

Following this, many fans took to social media to speculate which record label she recently signed with.

"I would bet money on charli signing to dirty hit," one wrote, while another one posted, "Dirty Hit feels so right for Charli... she's literally collabed with t1975/George, No Rome, Wolf Alice, and of course Rina!"

However, the musician finally addressed the issue by quote-retweeting a fan, confirming that she didn't sign a recording contract with Dirty Hit, writing, "I'm too expensive for them ;)."

The recent news comes nearly three years after confirming that her fifth album "Crash" would be her final project with her current record deal with Atlantic Records.

Speaking in a previous interview with NME last year, the singer, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, said she's doubting whether to become an independent artist after working with a massive record label.

"I like not having to foot the bill for everything at the beginning, that's quite scary. Especially when you want to do things on the kind of scale that I did on the last record. I'm still exploring, definitely." she added.

As of this writing, Charli XCX has not revealed the title and the official release date of her two upcoming albums, but she recently dropped a collaboration song with Caroline Polachek and The 1975's George Daniel for the remix of "Welcome To My Island."

In other updates, the pop star is currently dating The 1975's George Daniel, who is signed under Dirty Hit. She confirmed their romance over an Instagram post, sharing a photo of them together in a car while taking a break from her "Crash" world tour last year.

Today, the musician is down to her last two dates for the Australian leg of her tour. Her upcoming shows will be at The Domain in Sydney on February 24 and at The Tivoli in Brisbane on February 28.

The singer is also set to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 15 and 22, 2023.
