"Boy's A Liar Pt. 2" is taking over social media by storm over the past few weeks, especially on TikTok. Many fans have been wondering how the collaboration was conceptualized. Thankfully, producer Mura Masa gave listeners an insight into how the song happened.

Speaking to Billboard, the 26-year-old record producer revealed that he only lives 10 minutes away from PinkPantheress and she has a friend that lives literally next to his place so they would always bump into each other.

Since they constantly see each other, the two decided to collaborate on the song (initially without Ice Spice) and it was done in a few hours.

Explaining their songwriting process, the two musicians were not "verbal" in their communication. The song began with them hanging out in a studio when Mura Masa would start a beat.

"it was made in a couple of hours, like most things that we do. She took the idea and went away and worked on it by herself, and restructured it, wrote some different parts," she added.

Regarding Ice Spice's involvement in the remix, the record producer was surprised as he had no idea she would be featured in the second part of the song.

He explained in the interview that he only found out when videos of PinkPantheress and Ice Spice filming the music video in New York went viral on TikTok.

How Did Ice Spice Get Featured on PinkPantheress' 'Boy's A Liar Pt. 2'

In a previous interview with NME, the 22-year-old pop artist revealed that everything began through social media. PinkPantheress noted she doesn't use Instagram that much, but she was surprised when Ice Spice followed her as she looks up to her a lot.

The musician then tried her best and reached out through a private message, saying she would like to meet up if ever she went to the UK.

"I think she's really cool, above the music and everything. She said she was a fan [of mine], and I was like, 'OK, amazing," she said.

Even though the rising pop star said she's not a fan of remixes because it only repurposes old songs to make it a bigger hit, "Boy's A LIar Pt. 2" was an exception as she believed Ice Spice was a perfect addition to the track.
