Lana Del Rey was announced as part of the Glastonbury Festival 2023 lineup. However, because of the backlash that the organizers have received it seemed like Del Rey might be forced to pull the plug on her upcoming performance.

Del Rey, who recently won the Visionary Award at the 2023 Billboard Women In Music, is fighting back against the alleged misogyny at the Glastonbury Festival 2023 lineup.

Lana Del Rey Glastonbury Festival Performance

The Glastonbury Festival recently received flak for billing an all-male headliner lineup with Elton John, Guns N' Roses, and Arctic Monkeys.

Lana Del Rey was announced to be performing at the Other Stage at Worthy Farm, Somerset, in June 2023.

Del Rey, perhaps being one of the biggest acts of the entire festival, was confusingly placed lower down on the entire roster, which was in alphabetical order.

However, top billers like Lizzo, Elton John, Guns N' Roses, and Arctic Monkeys were placed at the top. Del Rey will be headlining the Other stage but was put lower on the roster.

Del Rey hit back on the Glastonbury Festival Instagram post, saying this: "Thanks for announcing that I was headlining the other stage. Thumbs up."

Fans of the "Norman F---ing Rockwell" singer echoed support for Del Rey, fuming why she was billed lower.

The organizers also received flak for the imbalance of acts for the upcoming UK festival.

Meanwhile, Emily Davis, a Glastonbury organizer, admitted to The Guardian that they have encountered "music industry" problems that led to the current lineup.

'We're trying our best so the pipeline needs to be developed. This starts way back with the record companies, radio. I can shout as loud as I like but we need to get everyone on board,' she explained, asserting that the music industry 'needs to invest in more female musicians to create future headliners,' she said in a statement.
