Jasmine Villegas is a 20-year-old from San Jose, Calif., who appears ready for the spotlight.

The singer (who goes by Jasmine V) recently dropped the video for "That's Me Right There," a solid track featuring Kendrick Lamar that oozes confidence and star power.

Radio.com points out that Jasmine has a history with big-time music videos; At age 10, she appeared as an angel in Kanye West's "Jesus Walks," and then followed that up by playing Justin Bieber's love interest in "Baby" six years later.

But her new flick is pretty grown up. Most of it features Jasmine dancing suggestively while portraying a budding romance with a handsome basketball player. Then, late in the video, Kendrick makes a creepy, Slim Shady-esque appearance in his four-door.

Villegas is known for being very personal with her fans ("Jasminators"). Last year, she told the world that she had been the victim of domestic abuse, and generally keeps very little from the large base she's collected.

She broke down this relationship in a recent interview with Fusion.

"These Jasminators are girls just like me," she told Menendez, who asked why Villegas makes such an effort to foster personal relationships with her fans. The singer says it's that desire to connect on a deeper level with her fan base that has prompted her to open up about her personal life on a very public stage.

The decision to share so much of her life with her fans is part of the reason Villegas has garnered such a huge following on social media, with more than 1.67 million Twitter followers, more than 300,000 Youtube subscribers, and nearly 900,000 Likes on her Facebook page. Villegas feels so connected to these "Jasminators" that she even decided to make them a part of the song selection process for her upcoming EP.

"At the end of the day they're the ones who are going to listen to it, they're the one that are going to want to relate," Villegas said.
