According to NME, the 70s glam rock singer was initially sentenced for 16 years in February 2015 after being proven that he sexually abused three young girls around 1975 to 1980.

He was charged with his crimes including attempted rape, one count of having sexual intercourse with a girl below 13 years old, and four counts of indecent assault.

Glitter reportedly attacked two girls in his dressing room after isolating them from their mothers. He also attempted to rape a girl who was under 10 at the time.

Just last month, the musician had a taste of freedom after being released from jail seven years later. At the time, a Ministry of Justice spokesperson issued a statement to BBC, saying that sex offenders like the singer are being monitored closely by the authorities as well as probation officers.

He stayed at a bail hotel in Hampshire where a crowd flocked outside to protest against him, leading him to call the police to report a disturbance.

Today, Sky News reported that the singer, whose real name is Paul Gadd, is under police custody again after breaking the conditions of his bail agreement.

"Protecting the public is our number one priority. That's why we set tough licence conditions and when offenders breach them, we don't hesitate to return them to custody." a representative for the probation service said of the recent incident.

As of this writing, Gary Glitter's legal team has yet to publicly address the issue.
