Lynyrd Skynyrd paid tribute to the last founding member of the rock band, Gary Rossington, during their Sunday evening performance.

According to reports, pictures of the late guitarist flashed on the screen behind the band as they performed "Tuesday's Gone."

The song's lyrics go like this: "Train roll on/ On down the line, won't you/ Please take me far away/ Now I feel the wind blow/ Outside my door, means I'm/ I'm leaving my woman at home, Lordy/ Tuesday's gone with the wind/ Oh, my baby's gone, with the wind."

Vocalist Johnny Van Zant imparted a few words in honor of Rossington, giving recognition to Damon Johnson, who initially stood in for the late guitarist while the latter sat the tour out due to health concerns.

"Damon Johnson playing it pretty for Mr. Gary Rossington, up in rock 'n' roll heaven," he said.

Despite Rossington's tragic death, Lynyrd Skyrnrd will carry one with their tour and then unite with ZZ Top for the "Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour" in July.

The Lynyrd Skyrnrd Survivor

According to Fox News, it was a tragic plane crash that led to the band breaking up and taking on new members.

Rossington survived the 1977 crash, while other members like Rossie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, and Cassie Gaines did not make it.

He sustained serious injuries, including broken arms, legs, ankles, and his pelvis.

After a decade, Ronnie's younger brother took on his role and picked up where the band left off and recruited several other new members.

He was accompanied by Rickey Medlocke, Michael Cartellone, Mark Matejka, Peter Keys, and Keith Christopher.

Rossington's death was announced by the band through social media. The statement read: "It is with our deepest sympathy and sadness that we have to advise, that we lost our brother, friend, family member, songwriter and guitarist, Gary Rossington, today."

"Gary is now with his Skynyrd brothers and family in heaven and playing it pretty, like he always does;

"Please keep Dale, Mary, Annie and the entire Rossington family in your prayers and respect the family's privacy at this difficult time."

The late guitarist's death came as a surprise for some, but many were aware that he had been grappling with his health for several years.

According to reports, he has a history of heart problems, a list of surgeries, and even suffered a heart attack in 2015.
