Jeffrey Vandergrift, popularly known for being the radio host of Wild 94.9's "The JV Show," has died at the age of 55.

The San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the tragic news to Variety. He was reportedly found dead after going missing nearly a month ago.

His radio station, Wild 94.9, also took to their social media accounts and official website to release a statement amid their employee's death.

"With a heavy heart, we must confirm that the body found near Pier 39 on Wednesday afternoon has been identified as our dear friend, family member & colleague, JV," the statement reads.

The station also noted that they are devastated by his passing and asked fans to give his wife, Natasha, his friends, and family in their thoughts and prayers.

Jeffrey Vandergrift Missing a Month Ago

In early reports, the San Francisco Police Department shared a post on their official Facebook account, asking the public for information about Vandergrift as he had gone missing.

"Jeffrey Vandergrift was last seen at his residence on the 200 block of King Street in San Francisco on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m. and he is considered 'at-risk,'" they wrote. He was last seen wearing black sweatpants.

His body was eventually found near Pier 39 almost a month after his disappearance.

A week after the announcement was made, his wife and co-host Natasha Yi addressed the issue in an emotional tweet through the radio station's account, thanking her company and noting that her husband had been undergoing "physical torture" for two years now.

She also believed that Jeffrey Vandergrift would not come back after his disappearance. She also told the public that there is no foul play suspected in the case.

Who Was Jeffrey Vandergrift?

Per the outlet, many listeners would remember Vandergrift, whose also known by his nickname JV, for his wit and humor.

He is the host of "The JV Show" since 2021. Aside from treating his fans with their daily dose of pranks and laughs, there were also times that he would open up about his personal life, specifically his health.

He previously confirmed that he was diagnosed with Lyme disease.
