Ed Sheeran is currently in a new era of music recently but it appears that the musician is venturing out into other genres as he's set to release a collaboration with Cradle of Filth's Dani Filth.

According to Rock 108, the two singers have become good pals recently and the metal musician said he finds his connection with the British global sensation "weird."

Speaking to Louder Sound's Metal Hammer, the rocker noted that he had been speaking with Sheeran for the past two years now and they have been working on a song together.

Sharing their recording session together, Dani noted that he "turned up on his own, guitar on his back, Cradle of Filth hoodie on, and got on with it. It was f****** great."

Ed Sheeran, Dani Filth Collab: What Would it Sound Like?

Elsewhere in the interview, the metal singer said their upcoming collaboration would sound like what people imagine it'll sound: Ed Sheeran with Cradle of Filth.

Throughout the song, the "Thinking Out Loud" hitmaker will be playing the acoustic guitar, but despite the calm nature of the instrument, Dani hinted that their song would be "heavy."

"It's got a blast beat in there. The plan is to do it as a charity single. We're hoping for it to be out by the summer," he added.

The musical project all began in July 2021 when Sheeran said in an interview with The Sun he's not against making a death metal album. He noted that some of his inspirations and bands that he listened to growing up were Cradle of Filth and Slipknot. (via Forbes)

Dani reacted to the matter by sharing the news on Instagram, writing in the caption that he'll believe it when he sees it.
