Katy Perry attended a cocktail event without even taking a sip!

The "Never Really Over" singer revealed that the reason behind her odd choice to stay away from any alcoholic beverages during a cocktail party is because of a promise she made to her fiance, Orlando Bloom.

"I've been sober for five weeks today... I've been doing a pact with my partner [Orlando Bloom] and I want to quit," the singer joked as she pretended to cry.

However, despite her admission that she was tempted to break her promise, Perry declared that she did not cave.

"No, girl! I can't cave. I made a promise. Three months," she said with a determined glint in her eye.

Instead of sipping cocktails, the singer instead drank De Soi, her non-alcoholic apéritifs line which was launched last year.

This new side of Perry was brought about by her own struggle with staying sober, but these days, she's much better at managing her cravings.

Katy Perry Hopes for Balance

"I definitely can't drink like I was in my 20s," Perry admitted when she initially launched De Soi. "On a weekday, having a couple [of alcoholic drinks] will take me out of the presence game for the next day or two."

Perhaps the downtime was costing her precious moments with her two-year-old daughter, Daisy, or some bonding with friends and family because she decided that enough was enough.

"So I like to have a bit of self-control on the weekdays and then have dinners with friends and stuff on weekends or when I'm not working, et cetera," she continued. "But really it's about balance."

Katy Perry Drops Alcohol

According to E News, this is not the first time the "Teenage Dream" singer put down a bottle of alcohol.

After her nasty divorce from actor Russell Brand in 2012, Perry avoided alcohol as a part of her three-month detoxing period.

The split was devastating for the singer, and it was even revealed to her fans that Brand broke up with her minutes before she went onstage for a performance.

"You know, I did a lot of different things," the singer shared her experience with detoxing. "I surrounded myself with my good friends, I did this whole cleanse where I didn't have any alcohol for three months-that was devastating-I did vitamins and supplements, and hikes and meditation and prayer."
