The ensuing drama between Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez has been ignited again, and most of it had been buried deep in the Internet... Until now.

However, when Puth deleted a cryptic tweet that read: "'Attention' is about what you think it's about," everything came back to the surface.

As per Glamour magazine, the drama between the two singers began when a rumor about them dating began circulating the time they both collaborated on their song "We Don't Talk Anymore."

Gomez was quick to shut down the rumors between herself and the "One Call Away" singer.

She shared a picture of herself with Puth and captioned it, "before it begins, he is a good one. He is my friend only lol."

'Attention'

Months later, Gomez went back to dating Justin Bieber, and Puth went his own way and released the song "Attention," which many speculated was about the "Only Murders in the Building" star.

The lyrics go: "You just want attention / I knew from the start / You're just making sure I'm never gettin' over you."

Puth revealed the story behind the song in an interview with Genius: "We would be talking in the hotel, she'd be like, 'You wanna sleep over?'"

"I'd be like, Yes, I'm gonna get it in! And then nothing would happen, which is totally fine. But after like the fifth time of that happening, I knew what she was doing."

"I knew that he was trying to make me so embedded to her that I would never leave her," he continued. "But I would never get what I wanted out of her. So she was doing that repetitively just to get something out of me, which was to be attached to her hips at all times."

The most telling part of his interview was when Puth explained, "I'm trying to put this the best way possible: It wasn't like I was the only person on her mind. And I think I knew that going in - what I was getting myself into."

Fans React

After he deleted the tweet, fans began coming after the singer, accusing him of being "disgusting" and that what he did was "borderline sexual harassment."

"Charlie Puth is so fucking weird. This comment about Selena gomez is literally borderline sexual harassment. Saying she owes him something bc she wanted him to sleep over. Men are gross," a twitter user wrote.

"Charlie Puth is the perfect example of how most men act when a woman denies them access to her body. The nerve to say 'she wasn't gonna give me what I wanted' and then going on to say that to you that meant she was manipulating you is sick. 8 years later, the ego is still bruised," another added.
