Did Bad Bunny really throw shade at Harry Styles during his Coachella performance?

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Ocasio, made history by becoming the first Latino artist in history to headline the Coachella festival. But during his Friday set, fans speculated that he threw shade at Styles during his performance.

Bad Bunny Shaded Harry Styles?

The Puerto Rican rapper was accused of criticizing the former One Direction member when he performed his hit song, "El Apagón," The track is part of his latest award-winning album, "Un Verano Sin Ti."

For what it's worth, Bad Bunny and Styles faced off when both songs competed at the 2023 Grammy Awards. The "Watermelon Sugar" hitmaker beat Bad Bunny's "Un Verano Sin Ti" for the album of the year award with his third solo album, "Harry's House."

Bad Bunny poured fuel to the fire when he added a video intro to his Coachella performance to pay tribute to the festival's past headliners, including Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, and Billie Eilish.

The clip did not mention Styles, although he headlined the festival in 2022 alongside The Weeknd and Eilish. It then led fans to accuse the rapper of throwing shade at the singer.

Bad Bunny Reacts to Harry Styles' Fans

Following the emergence of the accusations, a representative for Bad Bunny told Rolling Stone that the artist did not approve of the image of the tweet.

The visual content company for his Coachella set also shared the same, saying that Bad Bunny did not favor the tweet.

The visual company, Sturdy.Co., has since released a statement Monday on Instagram. It clarified that it intended to create "light-hearted designs" that could resonate with the rapper's personality while showing his life as a performer.

"The request from the artist during the visuals for the 'El Apagón' performance was to use the image only and not text from the tweet, which we take responsibility for and correct it for Friday's performance. These visuals are a celebration of Bad Bunny and his dedication to empowering his native island, Puerto Rico," the tweet went on.

Harry Styles has not commented on the issue yet.
