Lance Bass, who achieved global fame as part of NSYNC, has revealed that he made more money after the boy band split up.

Despite the perks that come with superstar status, it wasn't as financially beneficial for Lance as one might expect.

On SiriusXM's "The Jess Cagle Show," he claimed that "the worst thing is people thinking that we were rich because we were not."

Lance said, "We were famous, but we were not rich. I made way more money after NSYNC than I did during NSYNC.

At 43 years old, Lance revealed why his group had achieved fame, yet their finances still needed to be kept in check.

"Lou [Pearlman] was responsible for taking our money," he spoke of their former manager.

Lou, who first formed a band, is best known for perpetuating an immense Ponzi scheme of $300 million - one of America's largest frauds.

In 2006, the fraudulent scheme run by Lou through his Trans Continental companies was exposed. As a result of his mishandling of group finances, lawsuits were filed by several members of various boy bands, including the Backstreet Boys. Subsequently, in 2008 Pearlman was convicted of this crime.

"He really took a majority of all of our stuff and made horrible, horrible deals," Lance said of Lou, who passed away at 62 while serving his 25-year sentence.

But Lance Bass gushed about his time being on NSYNC during this interview and even before.

The former boyband star has shared that being in NSYNC was an incredible experience that allowed him to travel the world, perform in front of thousands of fans, and create music with some of his best friends.

He has also mentioned the intense schedule and hard work that went into being a member of a successful boy band, including long hours of rehearsals and constant touring.

Overall, Lance Bass has expressed gratitude for his time in NSYNC and its impact on his life and career.
