Blink-182 New Album Release Date Announced: Everything We Know So Far

Since Blink-182 announced their comeback last year, fans have been raving and expecting them to release their first official album since getting back together. It was already confirmed that a Blink-182 new album would be coming soon; details have been kept under wraps.

But now, drummer Travis Barker has given a more detailed answer on when fans could expect the actual Blink-182 new album.

Blink-182 New Album Release Date

In a definite yet vague tweet, drummer Travis Barker revealed the Blink-182 new album release date online.

Based on his tweet, the Blink-182 new album will be finished before they leave on tour. As previously announced, Blink-182 will supposedly open its tour in South America. However, Barker injured his fingers while drumming and was forced to reschedule the dates to 2024. (via NME)

The Blink-182 tour will kickstart in North America in Minnesota on May 4. If Barker's tweets are interpreted - it could mean two things:

First, it could mean that the Blink-182 new album release date would be May 3, 2023, a Wednesday, an unlikely release day since most albums were dropped on a Friday. So dropping it on Friday would be on May 5.

Second, the tweet could have meant they were finished with the album, but that doesn't mean they are already releasing it. Saying that an album "will be finished" could mean that they just finished the recording process, as they now have to focus on touring, and post-production would just start shortly after.

Another Tweet from Barker could seemingly support the latter interpretation.

In another tweet, Barker revealed that after their two Coachella performances that he pulled through with an "unhealed" finger, they have also finished recording the last four songs of the upcoming Blink-182 new album, even saying that the tour would be in the coming days, too.

Usually, post-production for an album could take a month to a year, depending on how complex the material or the preparation before its release could be.

Blink-182 New Album Details

So far, members of Blink-182 have hyped the upcoming album so much. Tom DeLonge even described the Blink-182 new album as the "best album" they have ever made.

"I'm personally tripping and so proud of what we have created TOGETHER. As one unified force of fun, eternal youth, and most of all - close friends," he shared. He also shared that the album will contain their "most progressive" songs in their career.
