Reports have suggested that pop star Cher stopped their wedding plans after being warned that her alleged fiancé Alexander "AE" Edwards, could be a potential danger to her $380 million fortune and may have been using her to further his career.

An observer remarked, "Cher has been pining after this man, but it appears the infatuation is wearing off."

Also, another source shared that "Cher's opinion of Alexander is beginning to shift."

Although Cher and her beau are still an item, Radar Online has learned that the singer has taken a step back.

The iconic actress will soon celebrate her 77th birthday in May and was recently spotted out in LA without wearing the dazzling diamond ring she had received from AE, 37.

Ever since meeting the Oakland native in Paris last fall, news has abounded that the "Believe" singer was spoiling her sweetheart with gifts.

This speculation came to a head when the multi-millionaire revealed an eye-catching sparkler on her hand in December, leading some to question whether she'd forked out for it all herself.

It was clear to onlookers that despite her carefulness with money, the pop legend was generous to this man as she seemed to fund his extravagant lifestyle.

And yet, according to those in the know, it appears that she is finally heeding the warnings of her children, Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman, regarding their inheritance.

A source revealed to the outlet that they were concerned about AE wanting a piece of it all.

It had been reported that Cher is very devoted to her new man and wanted to collaborate with him on two albums.

Yet, the fire between them flickered out as her patience waned due to his controlling behavior and growing mistrust. She found herself allegedly increasingly frustrated by his lack of reciprocation in the studio setting.

Sources close to the situation revealed that AE tends to ignore his phone when it comes time for him to throw parties.

"He simply disappears," explained one source.

Another insider also noted Edwards' disrespect towards Cher's years in the industry. They remarked, "It's worth noting that when Sonny & Cher had their biggest success in the 60s, he hadn't even been born yet."

Reports began to surface that when Cher and her partner were in the studio, his attempts to direct her with younger artists were not going as planned.

This time they spent together unearthed their differences in interests and a significant age gap, leading sources to believe that they wouldn't stay married for long.

As one source said, "It was only a matter of time before this happened; everybody just hopes she's ok."

Still, taking this report with a grain of salt is best.
