It's been nearly five years since Judas Priest last released an album, but it seems like fans are getting new music from the group as teased by guitarist Richie Faulkner.

According to 98 Online, the musician spoke with ABC Audio to reveal that their next project is in its final stages and is "almost finished."

"I think we have some vocals to do, and then we've gotta mix and then master," he added.

There is still no official title and release date for the record, but the guitarist hinted that the band still has a long way to go because there are more things they have to accomplish like manufacturing vinyl records, finalizing the artwork, and many more.

When Will the New Judas Priest Album Come Out?

Since physical products "takes a little while" in the present, Faulkner added that fans have to wait for a while as long as their records are still under manufacturing, but the musician added that it "shouldn't be too long now."

Elsewhere in the record, the guitarist noted that he and vocalist Rob Halford recently recorded vocals for the album and fans should expect something that they never heard before.

"Hearing some new Priest stuff that we haven't heard before with that legendary voice on is always an exciting thing to be a part of," he added.

Despite being busy with Judas Priest, Richie Faulkner managed to produce songs with his new band, Elegant Weapons. The group is set to release its debut album later this month.

Judas Priest New Album 2023

This isn't the first time Richie Faulkner gave fans some details about the possible release date of Judas Priest's new album as he spoke to "The Rock Is George" podcast  to tease the project last week.

He told the host that the majority of the record is finished, but there are still things that they need to consider.

The guitarist added that even though the album would be done today, it would take them months before releasing it as they have to give it to the record label to process the vinyl records.

"We're looking at six to nine months before the vinyl is ready. So that's a bit of a challenge to contend with," he said.
