One of the best "frenemies" to have ever graced television were Blake Shelton and Adam Levine on "The Voice." They weren't technically enemies per se, but more of two good pals trying to roast each other unapologetically on national television.

Since Levine left "The Voice" in 2019, the two have not reunited on television, which is why it is incredibly exciting for Levine to appear in the two-part season finale of "The Voice" Season 23 for a performance.

Adam Levine 'The Voice' Performance

According to Entertainment Tonight, Adam Levine and Maroon 5 will be rocking the stage of the popular singing competition show for its two-part finale on May 23, 2023.

Maroon 5 will be debuting their new song "Middle Ground," which comes out May 19, 2023.

This marks Levine and Blake Shelton's first official "The Voice" reunion after 4 years. Levine left after season 16, only to be replaced by returning judge Gwen Stefani in season 17.

Levine and Shelton were one of the four original coaches of "The Voice" since it started in 2011 with Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green. To date, Levine is still the second-longest coach on "The Voice" with 16 seasons, and Shelton is the longest judge with 23 seasons.

In the past, the two have shown incredible on-screen banter, roasting and playfully insulting each other as they try to score great talents during the Blind Auditions.

When asked by Entertainment Tonight during the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars Party last April what he thought of Shelton leaving the show, Levine had a pretty straightforward answer:

"It's about time!" he playfully quipped.

Blake Shelton Leaving The Voice

It was announced in October 2022 that after 23 seasons on his red chair on "The Voice," Blake Shelton will finally be retiring.

"I've been wrestling with this for a while and I've decided that it's time for me to step away from 'The Voice' after next season," he wrote in a statement. "The show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me.

According to NBC, Shelton's decision to leave the well-loved show was to focus more on his family with wife Gwen Stefani, whom she met in "The Voice."

Being a stepfather to Stefani's three children, Shelton thinks stepping away from the commitment is the right way for him to focus more on his family.
