Since his debut more than a decade ago, Ed Sheeran's songs have been widely used on momentous occasions like birthdays and most especially, weddings.

More recently, the singer surprised a couple who are superfans on the streets of New York City and gave them advice about parenting.

As seen on a video posted on TikTok by @MeetCutesNYC, the couple revealed they met four years ago at work. They "sparked up" a conversation and found out that they have shared interests.

The husband then revealed that their common denominators are "Candy, Harry Potter, and Ed Sheeran."

The pair got married last year and they revealed that the song they first dance to was the singer's "Put It All On Me."

The wife later told Sheeran the story of how they danced to his song on their wedding day and to the singer's surprise, it was the first time he ever heard someone use the song on such an occasion.

They later broke the news to the "Thinking Out Loud" hitmaker, saying they're expecting a baby boy in five weeks.

Sheeran then gave the couple short but heartwarming parenting advice, saying, "month four, it gets easier... the one thing you need to know is that no one gets it right." (via Billboard)

Ed Sheeran Belts Out Country Music

In other updates, the English musician appeared at this year's ACM Awards as one of the performers, where he played "Love You Anyway" with Luke Combs.

The track originally appeared as a solo song on the singer's latest album "- (Subtract)," but their duet was later released officially following the ceremony. (via People Magazine)

The day before their performance, Sheeran spoke with Billboard, revealing that he would love to transition into country music as he loves "the culture of it."

Surprisingly, the musician has been a fan of the country genre for years now and he even lived in the country music capital, Nashville, twice in the past.

"Nashville is just a hub of incredible songwriters, incredible performers. And I really felt inspired just being there being around everyone," he added.
