Blake Shelton has been a coach on "The Voice" for over 23 seasons and he's ready to retire from the position. More recently, it was announced that another country legend would replace him; how did he react to it?

According to Billboard, the 24th season of the reality TV competition will feature Reba McEntire as the musician's replacement.

Shelton spoke about his fellow country star in an interview with Extra, and he has nothing but kind words towards the female singer.

"She's just so authentic... I don't know anybody country, or on the planet, [who is more authentic than] Reba, and that's just the truth, but the other thing is her talent. ... She was born with this raw, natural talent that's just unbelievable," he said.

He further explained that millions of people know how incredible of a vocalist McEntire is and he's excited for her to amass more fans as she gears up to be the latest coach next season.

Gwen Stefani Returning to 'The Voice'

It's been a while since Blake Shelton's wife Gwen Stefani sat on her revolving chair on the show as a coach and she's ready to make a comeback this year.

Speaking about his partner, whom he married in 2021, the country singer said Stefani has a lot of reasons to come back to the coaching panel as she loves the job.

He also revealed that his wife was "a little bit shocked" when she got the call to come back and he's confused why because the production wants her.

Elsewhere in the interview, Shelton said he's ready to step back from his coaching duties to focus more on different aspects of his career.

"I just think it's time for what's next in my life," he added.

Aside from Stefani and McEntire, the two will be joined by John Legend and Niall Horan as coaches for season 24.
