On the latest episode of the "Armchair Expert" with Dax Shepard podcast, the 30-year-old singer and actor Nick Jonas shared his feelings about a subpar performance.

His brothers - Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas - also joined in for the interview.

At the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards, performing a duet of "Peter Pan" with Kelsea Ballerini proved to be an upsetting experience for Nick.

He declared it was his "worst moment" on stage because he missed a note during the performance.

After talking about his struggle to remember lyrics for a Cole Porter tribute, the subject of the discussion brought up an anecdote, precisely, that one time when his memory failed him.

"Then there was another time during a really tragic guitar solo debacle that happened on live TV."

Priyanka Chopra's husband added, "In retrospect, I can kind of laugh about how big I thought it was. But it did travel more than I wish it would have, and it did cause me to go to therapy."

At a time when Nick was preparing to launch his second solo album, "Last Year Was Complicated," there were mixed reviews online.

This led some people to repost an event he was a part of, along with comments of criticism.

As it happened, that same year of 2016 had seen Kelsea put out her debut album, "The First Time," which included a single called "Peter Pan."

"Kelsea and I had a couple performances together, and this was one of them."

The youngest of the four siblings went on to say, "I come out for my thing. I rehearsed it a million times. I'm feeling really confident about it - not even really thinking about it like it's a thing that's going to be problematic."

Beginning my journey, all seemed to be going well; however, as my feet brought him nearer to Kelsea, Nick confessed that his mind suddenly blanked, and a wrong chord escaped his throat.

"Til this day and hours after unpacking it, I can't really figure out exactly what happened, but I was rushed to a car and rushed to a plane right after it. I looked at my manager and said, 'I think that was bad.' I was, like, in shock kinda."

The ACM 2016 collaboration was significant to Kelsea as she had already opened for the Jonas Brothers' "Remember This" Tour in 2021. Little did she know this moment would be so impactful that it would shape Nick Jonas' perspective on striving for perfectionism.
