Foo Fighters restarted again as a band after losing their drummer, Taylor Hawkins.

Months after Hawkins' death in 2022, Foo Fighters made a tough decision to continue their career as a "different band." They told their fans they would never be the same again without Hawkins.

As they began to play again with their new touring drummer, Foo Fighters started to take baby steps toward the spotlight once more.

Foo Fighters "Learning To Walk Again" After Taylor Hawkins' Death

Foo Fighters started working again this year by launching shows across the country. They also dropped several songs, which will be part of their upcoming album, "But Here We Are," out on June 2.

Before their show in New Hampshire, the band confirmed that Josh Freese would be its new touring drummer. He marked his second performance with Foo Fighters at the Boston Calling Music Festival, but questions about whether he contributed to the band's latest album also emerged.

To answer fans' queries, David Grohl finally revealed that he was the one who played the drums in their upcoming album, but he did not disclose who would sit behind the set if they release another music project soon.

Amid Foo Fighters' shows and performances, fans became emotional as Grohl addressed the loss again at the recent festival after anticipating him to mention Hawkins.

"It's different now, to see you, to sing these songs to you, because a lot of them mean something new now," he said. "This song, I think we wrote this song 23 years ago or something. But every year, it takes on a new meaning, and it applies to life over and over again."

The frontman then led the band as they performed "Times Like These." However, the most heartbreaking song came when he played "Cold Day in the Sun" - the track he and Hawkins used to sing together before the drummer's death.

Foo Fighters also served Hawkins' favorite song, "Aurora," to their fans.

Taylor Hawkins' Son Honors Him

Joining Foo Fighters on stage, Shane paid tribute to his late father by playing the drums for "I'll Stick Around."

Grohl introduced him to the audience at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, saying that he is one of his favorite drummers in the world. The singer also shared a heartfelt statement by saying he would do it for Hawkins and his family.
