One thing about Lizzo is that she will definitely use her platform to talk about important things. Among her most recent moves was performing with Drag Queens on one of the California stops of her "Special" Tour.

The performance kicked off Pride Month as it happened last Friday, Jun. 2, 2023.

Lizzo Danced With Drag Queens To Kickstart Pride Month

In her performance at the Acrisure Arena in California, the "About Damn Time" invited a few Drag Queens and King to perform with her in the highly-attended concert.

In a video she has uploaded on her Instagram account, Lizzo was seen saying, "Happy Pride, Bitch" as she waved her pride flag up and down on stage. She was accompanied by Kim Chi, Angeria Paris Van Michaels, Kahanna Montrese, and drag king Tenderoni.

After saying that "Drag is Not a Crime!" Lizzo also penned a heartfelt caption on her Instagram post: "You've always had my back, and I'll always have yours. ️‍⚧️️‍Happy Pride️‍️‍⚧️"

This was not the first time that Lizzo pulled out Drag Queens at her performance. In a Knoxville, Tennessee concert, the hotbed for Anti-Drag Queen and Transgender legislation, Lizzo bravely invited several drag queens to perform with her in protest.

Aquaria, Kandy Muse, Asia O'Hara and Vanessa Vanji joined her in the said performance.

"In light of recent and tragic events and current events, I was told by people on the internet, 'Cancel your shows in Tennessee,' 'Don't go to Tennessee,'" she recalled being told at the time. "Their reason was valid, but why would I not come to the people who need to hear this message the most?"

Lizzo Faces Fatphobic Comments

Aside from being vocal about the LGBTQ community and dedicating her platform to raising their voice, Lizzo has been a firm and passionate advocate of body positivity.

Very recently, the singer faced fatphobic comments on Twitter asking her why she was still fat if she moved so much onstage.

Lizzo hit out the detractors, bemoaning the hateful comments she received online, even confessing how she wanted to quit music because of it.

"Y'all don't know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F**KING FARM," she said. "I'm not trying to BE fat. I'm not trying to BE smaller. I'm literally just trying to live and be healthy. This is what my body looks like even when I'm eating super clean and working out! Y'all speak on shit y'all know NOTHING ABOUT."
