More than 20 years ago, Arctic Monkeys was formed and founded in Sheffield by good pals Matt Helders, Andy Nicholson, and Alex Turner. In a few days, the group is set to return to their hometown for their homecoming concerts and they're expected to bring thousands of concertgoers.

According to BBC News, the band will be performing at Hillsborough Park on June 9 and 10, 2023, as a part of their ongoing series of concerts.

They are expected to play some of their classic hits, as well as tracks from their most recent album "The Car," which was dropped in October of last year.

Since their concerts are much awaited by locals, there will be several roads to be closed and it's possible to cause some traffic around the area. Public transportation will also be affected on their Friday and Saturday programs.

The outlet noted that Stagecoach warned fans who will take the tram to wait up to 90 minutes due to the high number of people attending.

In addition to coming back for a massive performance, the band will also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first gig at The Grapes pub in the city on June 13, 2023.

Arctic Monkeys Drummer Matt Helders Excited to Come Back

In an interview with BBC Radio Sheffield, drummer Matt Helders expressed his excitement over the shows as it took them five years before returning to their home town.

However, he also feels a little pressure because the crowds that would attend "have been there for the whole journey and have seen every version of us."
