Thank goodness, the "Wicked" movie Part 2 will be arriving earlier than anticipated! Supposedly, the second part of the highly-anticipated movie musical was earlier announced to be on December 2025, but it was bumped up to November 2025, just like what happened in the first movie.

Meanwhile, the casting for Doctor Dillamond seemed to still be up in the air, but Bowen Yang's recent interview seemed to have confirmed a longstanding fan theory.

'Wicked' Movie Part 2 Release Date

In a tweet from the official "Wicked" movie Twitter account, they announced that the "Wicked" Movie Part 2 release date would be on Nov. 27, 2025. This was adjusted from the initially reported December 2025 release date of the second installment.

Notably, "Wicked" was split into two parts, the first one to be released theatrically in November 2024 and the last a year after.

As of this writing, it was not announced what drove the said adjustment, but earlier reports say that Part 1 was moved to Thanksgiving to accommodate any huge film from Disney that would be released during the Christmas season. The same could be said on Part 2, but confirmation has yet to be released.

According to Broadway World, filming in the United Kingdom wraps up later this month. Leaks of the set reveal that the production is currently filming scenes in Shiz University as the then elaborate Munchkinland set was now transformed into a shimmering larger-than-life building.

Despite production's reminder and ban of drones and photographers, there seemed to be an unlimited supply of leaks as social media has been full of stolen shots of Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda, and Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba.

Who is Playing Doctor Dillamond in "Wicked?"

For avid fans of "Wicked," we all know that Doctor Dillamond plays an important role in Elphaba's awakening. Her goat teacher seemed to have radicalized her to some degree. After every role in the upcoming film has been cast, the role of Doctor Dillamond has yet to be filled.

Speculations among fans arouse, saying that Doctor Dillamond, who was originally a male in the musical, might be gender-swapped. TikToker Sweaty Oracle suggested in a video that an insider source has revealed it would be.

"SNL" actor Bowen Yang might have confirmed this theory as in an interview with Andy Cohen; he referred to casting Doctor Dillamond as a "her."
