Kesha and Dr. Luke have agreed to settle their respective lawsuits against each other, ending their legal feud that has gone on for almost a decade.

According to reports, Kesha dropped her lawsuit against Dr. Luke because she "cannot recount" the details of the alleged assault.

"Only God knows what happened that night. As I have always said, I cannot recount everything that happened," the "Tik Tok" singer wrote on Instagram.

"I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning a new one. I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved."

The chapter she is referring to began in 2014 when Kesha came forward and sued Dr. Luke for sexual assault, battery, and other claims; she alleged that the assault happened in October 2005 after signing a recording contract with the controversial producer.

Kesha, Dr. Luke's Longstanding Legal Battle

After Kesha claimed that Dr. Luke sexually assaulted her, as well as other artists like Katy Perry, the producer filed a counter suit against her for defamation.

For his part, Dr. Luke also issued his own statement following the settlement, "While I appreciate Kesha again acknowledging that she cannot recount what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened."

According to reports, the "Your Love is My Drug" singer also claimed that the producer "fat shamed" her and inflicted emotional abuse for years, which caused "severe depression, post-traumatic stress, social isolation, and panic attacks."

Dr. Luke denounced the claims; his legal team alleged that Kesha is suing him for to get out of her record deal.

Kesha, Dr. Luke Settles

Just before the new updated regarding the legal battle, Kesha won in the defamation case the producer filed, which apparently made it hard for him to prove that she defamed him by accusing him of rape.

"By 2014, when Gottwald initiated this defamation action, he was, by his own account, a celebrity - an acclaimed music producer who had achieved enormous success in a high-profile career," the statement released by the appeals court reads.

"He purposefully sought media attention for himself, his businesses and for the artists he represented, including Sebert, to advance those business interests."

Kesha's career struggled during the early years of the legal battle. She made her comeback in 2017 with the release of "Rainbow," as well as "Gag Order" in May 2023.
