It has been many months since she was seen publicly and her last appearance indicated a frailty that necessitated support from two people close to her.
Concerned family and friends of the 77-year-old Oscar-winning songstress have revealed that they fear she may suffer from a decline in her cognitive abilities.
Radar Online heard from reliable sources close to the star that she now has 24/7 care from a nurse at her home in Los Angeles.
The source noted of Liza, "She appears to be visibly agitated; her hands shake and she doesn't look well."
The outlet further reported that, despite reports of decline, Liza is "fine," according to a friend.
This opinion was backed up by her appearance at the Academy Awards in March last year when, though appearing frail and bewildered, she still managed to present the Best Picture nominees alongside Lady Gaga despite some missteps.
However, it has been observed that Liza Minnelli sometimes has trouble focusing and being aware of who is speaking with her.
According to an inside source who spoke to the outlet, the Oscars were supposed to be a pivotal night for Liza. Unfortunately, it took a turn for the worse when she had to be brought out in a wheelchair instead of sitting comfortably in a producer's chair, as she anticipated.
Clearly, this was different from what Liza wanted people to remember her by.
A heartbreaking reality has reportedly befallen the singer-actress - according to a source, she is on her last legs financially.
Allegedly, she had been taking care of many relatives before this point in time, which is no longer occurring. "It's a tragic situation for everyone involved," said an insider.
After her five-year marriage with David Gest concluded in 2007, Liza Minnelli lost much of the $50 million fortune she had built up.
It is reported that this has led to a quieter lifestyle, as she now resides in a more humble abode than the one she lived in during her heyday.

They further noted that she often used a wheelchair and rarely left her home and that returning to New York from her new home in California would have been far too taxing for her.
