Just a couple of days ago, Music Times reported that Miley Cyrus' MTV Video Music Awards homeless runaway date, Jesse Helt, had a warrant out for his arrest as a result of a number of probation violations. Now, it appears the young man has turned himself into Dallas, Oregon police just last night (Thursday, Aug. 28), reports Statesman Journal.

The publication notes that the 22-year-old runaway turned himself into to Polk County Jail and had a bail of $25,000. He was allowed to post 10% of that bail. Sheriff Bob Wolfe explains, "He came into the jail with that on him."

Helt's probation violations were due to an original charge of criminal trespass and criminal mischief.

The daughter of "Achy Breaky Heart" singer Billy Ray Cyrus had Helt accompany her to the Awards ceremony after they had met at My Friend Pete's shelter in Los Angeles –– a shelter for homeless youths that aims to help them rebuild their lives.

Both the singer and Helt made headlines this past Sunday night at the MTV VMAs when Cyrus had him accept her award after winning a VMA for her video of "Wrecking Ball." During his speech, Helt spoke, unsurprisingly, about the young homeless community.

A native of Oregon, Helt attended West Salem High School, graduating in 2009. Statesman Journal claims that the boy's mother, Linda Helt, affirms that Cyrus gave her son the appropriate funds to head back to Oregon.
